  2.               Standard Install: Remote Host Information

  6. Standard Install will allow management agents (DSA) to be installed to 
  7. remote machines. Management agents allow a remote machine to be 
  8. administered by the EnlightenDSM GUI. It is recommended that management
  9. agents be installed onto the DNS and NIS servers. If agents are not 
  10. installed on the name servers, functionality of EnlightenDSM will be 
  11. severely limited in the functional areas of User Administration and 
  12. Network Configuration. If you do not wish to install agents on the name
  13. servers, you may use the Naming Service Overrides window in the 
  14. EnlightenDSM GUI to define Local Overrides. Local Overrides allow you to
  15. view and modify information from local /etc files instead of information
  16. from name servers.

  18. The management agents require approximately 40M free disk space.

  20. Continue Button:
  21.  
  22. Press 'Continue' after you have finished setting up the Remote Install
  23. List. If you do not wish to install to any remote hosts, you may leave
  24. the Remote Install List empty. You can install to remote hosts at a 
  25. time by running the Custom Install.

  27. The final Install to Local and Remote Hosts window will appear.
  28. No components are installed at this time.

  30. Cancel Button:

  32. Press 'Cancel' to exit the EnlightenDSM Installer. 
  33. No components will be installed.

  35. Remote Host:
  36.  
  37. Enter the name of a remote host. More than one host may be specified 
  38. by separating each host name with a space.

  40. Root Password:
  41.  
  42. Enter the remote machine's root password. This password will be used 
  43. for all remote hosts specified in the field above. Only one password 
  44. may be entered.

  46. Install Directory:
  47.  
  48. Enter the directory into which the management agents should be installed.
  49. This directory will be used for all remote hosts specified in the Remote
  50. Host text field above. Only one directory may be specified.

  52. Add to Remote Install List:
  53.  
  54. Press this button after you have filled in the Remote Host, Root 
  55. Password, and Install Directory fields. For each host specified in
  56. the Remote Host field, the EnlightenDSM installer will verify that
  57. the root password is correct, the host has enough free disk space and
  58. that the host's OS is supported.
  59.  
  60. If any errors are encountered, you will have a chance to re-specify
  61. the install parameters for the failed host.
  62. If no errors are encountered, the host name(s) will be added to the 
  63. Remote Install List.

  65. Delete Button:
  66.  
  67. This button will delete all selected hosts from the Remote Install
  68. List.
